Introduction Dive Program
After 25 years of working at the DAV Winter Clinics in Colorado, we are taking our programs directly to Veterans across America. A vast majority of Veterans can't make the trek to Colorado each winter, so we are bringing our programs to them! Each Dive Experience Program will be designed and created to fit into the facilities and needs of the local Veterans community. The program will be a three-day event, designed to give each Veteran a 30 minute scuba diving opportunity, as they are introduced to the therapeutic and fun benefits of being in a temperature regulated and ADA accessible pool. It is a great opportunity for each Veteran to enjoy the therapeutic benefits that come with swimming and diving in a weightless environment.
Diver Certificate Program
Once a Veteran experiences the excitement and comfort of diving, they all ask for the next step in this journey. Each Veteran asks how do they go on with their training and how do they earn their diving certification card. This next program gives the Veteran the training and experience to take their diving experience to the next level! For some, this opportunity opens the door to once again participate in an activity they no longer thought possible. For others this training opens a new and exciting window to participate in the comfortable world of scuba diving. TVAP offers our Diver Certification Program so our Veterans can get the training and equipment needed to travel with friends and family and scuba dive in open waters. We will learn together, train together, and succeed together. It is our commitment to identify what individual and unique needs each participant has, and to address those needs during this dive training program. With a cohesive team approach, there are no issues we can't successfully identify, address, and conquer with grace, humility and courage. In the TVAP Dive Certification Program, we will face these hurdles together and champion the effort and results. Contact TVAP today to find how to register for the Dive Certification Program and how to become a sponsor for one of our Veterans!
Every year, we receive hundreds of requests from disabled Veterans across the country asking TVAP to organize and offer a diving adventure to a warm and safe open-water environment. The diving program is planned and executed under the standards of the Handicapped Scuba Association and PADI. A dive team would consist of the Veteran and their assistant and two to three dive buddies, trained to safely support the Veteran in the open water environment. For each five-member team, a budget of $10,000 would cover the cost of safely providing a complete dive experience for the Veteran. For travel and meals, and from dive boat rental to the medical support technician, each dive team member would spend the week supporting and sharing the awesome adventure with the Veteran, Help us book our next trip!
